HarborView Yacht Sales Brings Years of Experience to Great Lakes Boat Sales
- Dan Sherburn
Dan sailed for over thirty years on Lake Michigan, competing in several cross-lake races including over 15 Queens Cup, numerous Clipper Cup and 2 Chicago to Mackinac races. After “retiring” from sailing, Dan purchased a 1976 Grand Banks 32 trawler and completed a solo Great Loop in 2017-2018. He currently owns a new Ranger Tug trawler and enjoys cruising the waters of Northern Michigan. Of all the cruising grounds experienced on the Great Loop, Dan finds northern Lake Michigan and Lake Huron to be some of the finest on the trip.
As a buyer broker Dan can assist you in finding a “Loop” or cruising boat. He can also assist in helping you establish a value, prepare, and list your boat when it comes time to sell.
“I approach my role as a Yacht Broker as one of a consultant. I believe this approach of doing my best to educate and provide information to buyers or sellers makes the process much more enjoyable for everyone.”
Please call to discuss your boating needs. Or just to get free advice on doing the Loop!”
- Steven Reynolds
Steven’s love of boating started with his first boat, a Boston Whaler 13, at the age of 11. He grew up around boats and marinas developing a love for the water. His experience includes power boats and sailboats. Currently he owns a power boat used for work and fishing, but he also has a Catalina 30 MkII cruising sailboat. He has raced sailboats and crewed on others sailboats in regional racing.
In addition to his personal boating interests, Steven served on a Board of Directors for a yacht club for several years, and was the Deputy Sheriff in charge of the Marine Patrol in 2017-2018. After retiring from a first career, Steven is now working part time as a Hydrographic Surveyor and mapping lakes in the US and Canada. Steven is also a professional photographer for staging photos and an FAA licensed remote pilot for drones. Leveraging years of experience in all aspects of boating, the transition to Boat Broker seemed like a natural fit, and he’ll now help clients find their perfect vessel or sell one with confidence.
“With a strong background and love for boating that spans decades, I bring a unique perspective to the world of boat sales. My commitment to professionalism, integrity, and exceptional customer service all helps me assist clients with acquiring or selling their vessel. Drawing on my extensive knowledge of various types of vessels, I am dedicated to guiding buyers and sellers through every step of the purchasing or selling process with care and consideration. I am here to help you along the way.”

- Jon Kukuk
Born and raised on the shores of Lake Superior, Jon started his boating career at the age of 14. Before entering college where he received degrees in Industrial Technology and Mechanical Engineering Jon spent many years working his way through school at boat shops, snowmobile businesses and outboard motor repair facilities. Thereafter, over the years he and his wife Sue have owned over 35 boats ranging in size from 9 foot up to their large yacht of 55 feet. Boating has been a “lifestyle” for his family, raising 2 daughters & son-in-laws along with 3 granddaughters aboard boats from their earliest years to today.
Along the way Jon and family have boated all the Great Lakes, the Florida Gulf and over 90 percent of the Great Loop. It was in 1991 that Jon and Sue made a decision to buy and run a marina. For 27 years they grew a small town facility into a nationally recognized 5 Star operation including being given the National Marina of the Year Award in 2011. Along the way the business has been recognized as Small Business of the Year and Jon was recognized as Person of the Year by his local Chamber of Commerce. The marina represented numerous boat brands over the years including Catalina Yachts where they were million dollar dealers several years.
Prior to their marina ownership Jon plied his nautical background at the government shipyard Marinette Marine as its Quality Manager, verifying proper ship construction and directing the sea trials of numerous naval ships. Jon has been teaching boat safety courses for 55 years through the US Power Squadron and US Coast Guard Auxiliary, has held numerous leadership offices in both organizations and is a certified on-water boating instructor. For Jon & Sue “boating” means more than just being “on the water” its spring commissioning, warm thoughts of summer cruising, beautiful sunsets and bonfires relaxing with friends. Boating is year round, so let Jon introduce you to the “Nautical Lifestyle” by helping to seek out the right boat or sell the one you have while in search of the next.
